Add anyone to a volunteer roster in seconds

Your volunteer roster just got easier to fill. Open any position under First Step > Volunteer and click the new Add Volunteer button. Type in a first name, last name and email (phone is optional), and they’re on the list.

The person doesn’t need a FutureFund account or to be a registered parent. That means the grandparent who offered to help at the book fair, the teacher covering a shift, or the neighbor who signed up on the paper sheet at back-to-school night can all go on your roster. If their name and email match a parent you already have, we’ll put the sign-up on that parent’s record for you. And if someone you added later registers through First Step with the same name and email, their sign-ups move onto their family’s registration on their own, so they never show up twice.

Everyone you add shows up right alongside your other volunteers. They’re in the position’s roster, both volunteer exports, and the shareable volunteer dashboard, and they get your emails when you message that position’s volunteers. Added the wrong person? Use the same Remove button you use for any other sign-up.

One more thing: the daily volunteer sign-up email now lists only people who signed themselves up. Anyone you added by hand or brought in with an import is left out, since you already know about them. Importing still works great for big lists. Admins with view-only access won’t see the button.
