More event types for your school calendar

Your Events Calendar used to give you just two choices when adding an event by hand: “School Event” or “Holiday.” Now you’ve got eight: Deadline, Early Release, Event, Meeting, No School, Other, plus the Holiday you already had. Ticketed events and fundraisers still show up automatically from your campaigns, no extra work needed.

Each type gets its own color and icon, both in your Admin calendar and on the public calendar families see. That means a parent glancing at the calendar can spot an early release day or a permission-slip deadline without clicking in to read the details. We also reworked the colors so every label is easy to read, no more squinting at pale text on a pale badge.

Nothing you’ve already added needs to change. Any event you’d previously marked “School Event” has been automatically renamed to “Event” behind the scenes, so your calendar looks exactly like it did, just with more options going forward.

To try it, go to Admin > Website > Events, click a day (or an existing event), and pick a category from the dropdown.
