See at a glance who an expense report is waiting on

If you’ve started collecting board sign-off with Approvals, your expense report list can now tell you something it couldn’t before: whether a report is waiting on you, or waiting on somebody else.

Until now, every submitted report said In Review — whether it was sitting in your queue untouched or out with three board members. There are now three stages instead of one:

  • Pending — submitted, and it’s yours to approve or reject
  • In Review — you’ve sent it out for sign-off and you’re waiting on your reviewers
  • Reviewed — your reviewers have answered, so it’s back in your hands

Approved and Rejected work exactly as they always have, and you never have to set any of this by hand. The status moves on its own as you send a report out and your reviewers respond. Sort by the Status column on the Expense Reports page and everything you can actually act on today groups together.

The volunteer who submitted the report sees the same stages on their tracking page, so “Reviewed” tells them their report is with you rather than stuck. And if your organization doesn’t use Approvals, the only difference you’ll notice is the name: what used to say In Review now says Pending.
