Write and print checks right from BeeKeeper
No more juggling a separate check-writing program (or handwriting checks and hoping you remember to log them). BeeKeeper now writes and prints checks directly from your bank account, and every check automatically creates its matching bookkeeping entry — so your books stay balanced without any extra typing.
Open any bank account, click Write Check, and start typing — you’ll see a live preview of the actual check as you go: payee, date, amount, memo, even the mailing address for a window envelope. Start typing a vendor’s name and BeeKeeper fills in the address for you. Splitting one check across a couple of budget categories? Click Split across categories and BeeKeeper keeps a running tally of what’s left to allocate. When you’re ready, load your check stock and print one check or a whole stack at once, in whatever layout matches your stock (3-per-page or voucher-style with stubs). A one-time calibration page helps line everything up perfectly with your printer.
It’s also fully connected to the rest of your bookkeeping. Approving an expense report? Choose Print a check right from the approval screen and it lands in your print queue automatically. Any checks waiting to be printed show up as a reminder on your dashboard, so nothing slips through the cracks. If a check smudges or jams in the printer, reprint it with the same number, or void and reissue it with a new one — either way, the full history is kept for your records. There’s also a new Checks Report so you can see everything written from an account at a glance.
Once you set up check printing for an account (bank accounts only — look for Check Settings in the Actions menu), you’re ready to go. It’s a great fit if your organization pays vendors by check and wants to stop double-entering everything into two different systems.
