Create Your Own Tasks, No Template Needed

Sometimes you need to track a piece of work that just doesn’t match any of your organization’s ready-made task templates — a quick follow-up, a reminder for the board, or something specific to your PTA. Now you can build that task yourself.

On your Tasks page, click Create Task and you’ll see a Template dropdown with a new option: Custom Task. Pick it and a simple form appears where you fill in a title, a description, a due date, and — if you’d like — assign it to someone on your team.

Custom Tasks skip the multi-step review process entirely. When the work is done, just open the task and click Mark Complete. If you need to reopen it later, that’s one click too, and anyone following the task gets an email the moment it’s marked done. Custom Tasks show up right alongside your regular tasks in your task list, My Tasks, and past-due tracking — and the feature works whether you’re at the state, district, council, or unit level.

It’s a small addition, but it means you’re no longer limited to what your state PTA has pre-built. Got a one-off item to track? Just add it yourself.
