Share Your HelpOut Events With Your Whole Team

Ever try to hand off a HelpOut event to your co-chair, and end up sharing your login just so they could get in? That’s over. Events and address books now belong to your whole team instead of just the person who created them, so anyone you invite can create and manage every event, right alongside you.

Look for Team in the left sidebar. Click Invite, type your co-chair’s name and email, and they’re in — they can jump straight into any of your events, even if they sign in on their own instead of clicking the emailed invitation. Everyone on a team can do everything, so there’s no owner and no permission levels to sort out. Need to remove someone, or resend an invite that got lost in a spam folder? That’s on the Team page too, and you can leave a team yourself whenever you’re done helping (as long as you’re not the last person on it).

Right below Team, Settings lets you rename your organization — something like “Lincoln Elementary PTA” instead of the placeholder name we gave you when you signed up. Your organization’s name now shows at the very bottom of the sidebar; click it to switch between teams or start a new one, handy if you help out at more than one school.

If you’ve never invited anyone, nothing changes — your events and address books work exactly as they always have. And the links you share for your events stay exactly the same too.
