Dashboard & Navigation
Why a Dashboard Matters
Your dashboard provides an at-a-glance view of your organization’s financial health. Instead of digging through reports, you can quickly see what needs attention and take action.
The Dashboard
BeeKeeper’s dashboard is the main home page for your organization, showing a complete overview of your financial position and operational status. It surfaces the most important information so you can stay informed without navigating through multiple pages.
Financial Position
At the top, you’ll see your organization’s current financial standing:
- Total Assets: Cash in bank accounts, investments, receivables
- Total Liabilities: Credit card balances, loans, payables
- Net Equity: Assets minus liabilities (your organization’s net worth)
Bank Connection Status
Shows whether your bank accounts are connected and syncing:
- Connected: Transactions import automatically
- Not Connected: You’ll need to enter transactions manually
- Click to manage connections or troubleshoot sync issues
Budget Overview
Displays your current approved budget:
- Budget name and fiscal year
- Total budgeted income
- Total budgeted expenses
- Net budget (surplus or deficit)
If no budget is approved, you’ll see a prompt to create one.
Action Items
The dashboard highlights items needing your attention:
| Item | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Pending Amendments | Budget changes awaiting approval |
| Expense Reports | Reimbursement requests to review |
| Unreconciled Transactions | Bank transactions not yet categorized |
| Pending Invitations | Users who haven’t accepted their invite |
Click any item to go directly to that section.
Recent Activity
Shows the last 30 days of transactions:
- Date and description
- Amount (income or expense)
- Account affected
Helps you stay aware of recent financial activity without running reports.
Team Access
Lists current users and their permission levels:
- See who has access to your books
- Identify pending invitations
- Quick link to user management
Compliance & Review Tools
In addition to the dashboard, BeeKeeper provides dedicated tools for compliance and financial review:
- Transition Kit: A comprehensive handoff package for incoming treasurers, covering everything they need to understand the organization’s finances
- Audit Report: A detailed report for internal or external audits
- Financial Review: The Annual Financial Review tool helps organizations complete their year-end review process
These are available as standalone pages and reports, separate from the day-to-day dashboard.
