Team
Overview
The Team page is where you manage the people who have access to your district or council in FutureFund Connect. Everyone listed here can sign in and work on your organization.
Access in Connect is simple: a person either has access to your district or council, or they doesn’t. There are no separate “view,” “edit,” or “manage” levels. When you invite someone, they get access to the organization you invited them to.
Access cascades down the hierarchy
When someone has access to a district or council, that access automatically extends to the organizations beneath it:
- A council team member can also access the units within that council.
- A district team member can also access the councils within that district and the units within those councils.
Because access flows downward, please be thoughtful about who you add at the district or council level. Only invite people who genuinely need visibility across the organizations below them.
About the Role field
When you invite someone, you’ll enter a Role (for example, President, Treasurer, or Parliamentarian). This is just a helpful label so you can remember why each person was added. It does not change what they can see or do. Everyone with access has the same access.
How to invite someone to your Team
- Open your district or council and go to the Team page.
- Click Invite User.
- Enter the person’s Full Name and Email Address.
- Enter a Role if you’d like (this is just a label).
- Save the form.
The person will receive an email inviting them to set up their account and sign in. Until they accept, their status will show as Invited.
How to update or remove a team member
Each person on the Team page has buttons in their row:
- Edit — Open their record to update the Role label. You cannot change someone’s name or email here; only that person can update those in their own profile.
- Remove — Take away that person’s access to your district or council.
- Resend — If someone hasn’t accepted their invitation yet, send the invitation email again.
A couple of things you cannot do
- You cannot remove yourself. The Remove button doesn’t appear on your own row, so you can’t accidentally lock yourself out.
- You cannot remove a FutureFund administrator. Accounts belonging to FutureFund staff don’t show a Remove button.
Understanding invitation statuses
Each row shows a status so you know where each person stands:
- Invited — The invitation has been sent, but the person hasn’t set up their account yet.
- Accepted — The person has set up their account and can sign in.
- Expired — The invitation sat unaccepted for too long. Use Resend to send a fresh invitation.
- Blocked — We weren’t able to deliver email to that address. If you see this, please contact support for help.
Tips
- Review your Team list at the start of each term. Remove people who are no longer in leadership so your roster stays current.
- If someone says they never got their invitation, check their status. If it shows Invited or Expired, click Resend. If it shows Blocked, reach out to support.
- Invite new leaders a little early so they can get comfortable with Connect before their term officially begins.
