What is FutureFund Connect?

Learn what FutureFund Connect is and how it helps state, district, council, and unit PTAs manage compliance, governance, memberships, and communications.

Overview

FutureFund Connect is an online platform for state, district, council, and unit PTAs to manage compliance, governance, memberships, and communications. It brings all of your PTA operations into one place, giving leaders the tools they need to stay organized and on track.

The platform is built around a four-level hierarchy: State → District → Council → Unit. For example, California PTA (state) contains Peralta District PTA (district), which contains Pleasanton Council PTA (council), which contains Walnut Grove Elementary PTA (unit).

How to Navigate FutureFund Connect

FutureFund Connect has two menus, and it helps to know what each one is for.

The left sidebar — you

The sidebar follows you everywhere and holds the things that are personal to you:

  • My Organizations — every organization you have access to. This is where you pick which one to work in.
  • My Messages — your in-app inbox, with a badge showing unread messages.
  • My Tasks — every task assigned to you, across all organizations, with a badge showing how many are open.
  • Favorites — organizations you’ve starred for quick access.
  • Account — your profile, this help center, and API documentation.

The navigation bar — the organization you’re in

Once you select an organization, its name appears at the top of the page with a row of links underneath. That row is scoped entirely to that organization — Dashboard, Tasks, Documents, Reports, Team, and so on. Everything you see and do applies to the organization you selected.

What appears in that row depends on the level:

  • Units — Dashboard, Tasks, Messaging, Board Members, Documents, Memberships, Team
  • Councils and Districts — Dashboard, Directory, Tasks, Payouts, Messaging, Board Members, Documents, Reports, Team
  • State PTAs — Dashboard, Directory, Tasks, Payouts, Messaging, Reports, Team, Setup

To switch organizations, use My Organizations in the sidebar, or click a breadcrumb above the organization name to move up a level.

Favorites

Click the star next to an organization’s name to add it to your Favorites list in the sidebar. If you work with the same few units week after week, this is the fastest way back to them.

What You Can Do

  • Tasks — the compliance and governance work that flows through your organization, created automatically on a schedule and routed for approval.
  • Document Management — submit and track required documents such as financial reports, tax filings, and insurance forms.
  • Governance Tools — generate bylaws through a guided process and maintain board rosters by term.
  • Communications — email your members and board members, schedule messages ahead of time, and track delivery.
  • Membership Lists — maintain membership records, imported by hand or synced automatically from FutureFund.
  • Reports — compliance scorecards, contact lists, past-due tracking, and more, at the council, district, and state levels.
  • Payouts — councils, districts, and state PTAs receive their share of membership dues by direct deposit.

Tips

  • Your current organization determines what you see. If you’re looking for data from a specific unit, make sure you’ve selected that unit first.
  • Higher-level organizations (state, district) give you visibility into everything beneath them, making it easy to monitor compliance across many units at once — start with the Directory or Reports.
  • Star the organizations you work with most frequently so they’re one click away in your Favorites.
  • The dashboard status cards at the top of a unit, council, or district give you an instant read on bylaws, tax filings, registry status, and past-due tasks. See Understanding Your Dashboard Status Cards.
