Campaign Bundles

Campaign Bundles allow the purchase of a group of campaigns as a single purchase while allowing the admin to manage the order as if each campaign was purchased separately.

Campaign Selection

Any number of campaigns can be added to a campaign bundle. There is no limit, however, we encourage the admin to select a reasonable number for simplicity.

The following campaign types are supported in a bundle: Product, Donation Drive, Sign Up, and Membership.

Pricing

The campaign bundle has a single price. When a campaign is added to the bundle, the admin will enter the amount allocated to each campaign.

For example, if a bundle contains a donation and a membership, the admin would specify an amount for the donation of $100 and an amount for the membership of $25. The campaign bundle price will be the sum of the selected campaign amounts. In our example, this is $125.

Note: The donation campaign has a single donation amount. The parent is not able to select a different amount or opt out.

Allowed Campaign Types

The following campaigns types can be added to a shop page:

  • Product
  • Membership
  • Donation Drive

Attribution

Campaign bundles support the same “Who is this purchase for?” picker as other campaigns: No one, A student, or A parent (an older A teacher option only appears on bundles that already use it). The bundled attribution cascades to the selected campaign’s attribution if there is a match. For example, if a bundled campaign is set to Student attribution and has two selected campaigns:

  • Parent’s Night Out Tickets: Attribution = Parent
  • Yearbook: Attribution = Student

The Yearbook purchase will include the student name when purchased, however, the Parent’s Night Out Tickets will not include the student or parent name.

Membership Audience

If a bundle includes one or more Membership campaigns, you can set a Membership Audience for each one in the bundle’s First Step settings. This tells FutureFund who the membership is for:

  • Students and Parents can be checked together, letting the purchaser choose either one.
  • Other (non-student/parent) is used for someone outside the family, like a grandparent or community member, and cannot be combined with Students or Parents.

When an audience is set, First Step asks the purchaser to pick the specific student or parent for that membership (or type in a name and email for Other). The membership is issued directly to whoever they choose, just like a standalone Membership Campaign.

If a bundle also contains a campaign that still needs attribution (for example, a donation attributed to a student), that selection stays and is labeled with the campaign’s name.

Bundles that haven’t had Membership Audience configured continue to collect a single member name and email for their bundled memberships.

Campaign Options

Campaign Options are supported in campaign bundles.

When multiple product campaigns contain campaign options, the options are aggregated, but not de-duplicated. For example, if shirt and pant campaigns are added and each have a size, the system will display two sizes during checkout. Each size will have the campaign name to differentiate the option.

Reporting and Fulfillment

Behind the scenes, each campaign is added to the order. When the parent views the order, they will see a single bundled item. In the Admin, each campaign will be displayed. This allows fulfillment and reporting at the campaign level as well as for the bundle.

Organizations and Payouts

Sales are deposited to each organization as if the campaign bundle were purchased individually. The campaign bundle is not displayed on the payout report; the selected campaigns are displayed.

The selected campaigns can be from any organization. They do not need to be from the same organization.

Apportioned organizations are supported.
