What This Does

Connecting HelpOut to your FutureFund account does two things automatically:

• Every volunteer position in FutureFund becomes a ready-made address book in HelpOut, already filled with the people who signed up — nobody has to retype the roster into a second tool.
• HelpOut’s events show up on your school’s Events Calendar and in the calendar feed families can subscribe to, so events being run in HelpOut don’t stay invisible to everyone else.

Who Can Connect

Only a FutureFund account administrator can connect or disconnect HelpOut. Organizers and read-only team members can’t — the link hands over your school’s volunteer roster and write access to your calendar, so it’s an administrator-only decision, the same way changing other account-wide settings is.

Connecting

You can start from either product:

• From FutureFund: In the Admin, go to Account Settings > Integrations and click Connect HelpOut. You’ll be sent to HelpOut to sign in (if needed) and confirm.
• From HelpOut: Go to Settings > FutureFund and click Connect to FutureFund. You’ll be sent here to pick which FutureFund account to connect — only an administrator on that account can complete this step.

Either path ends in the same place: HelpOut and this FutureFund account are linked.

Managing the Connection

Account Settings > Integrations lists what’s connected, including which HelpOut team and what it can do. Click Disconnect here at any time to remove it.

What Happens Once Connected

• Your current school year’s volunteer positions appear in HelpOut as address books, kept up to date automatically (about once an hour). Renaming or changing a position here updates the matching list in HelpOut.
• HelpOut’s events appear on your Events Calendar tagged Volunteer, linking to the HelpOut signup page — there’s nothing to edit on the calendar itself. Gift It! events (a private, one-on-one gift collection) are never included.

Disconnecting

Disconnect from either product’s settings page. It takes effect immediately: HelpOut’s synced address books disappear over there, and HelpOut’s events come off your calendar here. Nothing else about either account is affected, and you can reconnect whenever you’re ready.
