Recognizing a FutureFund Charge on Your Card Statement

Seeing a charge that starts with FF* on your card statement? Here's what it means and how to find out what it was for.

School groups, like PTAs, PTOs and booster clubs, use FutureFund to sell memberships, tickets and spirit wear and to collect donations. If you paid one of them by card, the charge comes from FutureFund. This page helps you figure out what a charge was for.

What the Charge Looks Like

A FutureFund charge starts with FF*, followed by a short name for the school group. For example, a purchase from Skylark Elementary School’s group might show as FF*SKYLARK EL.

The short name is chosen by the school group. If they never chose one, it’s the first 18 letters and numbers of the group’s name, run together with no spaces. For example, FF*OAKPARKPTO. Some banks shorten or reformat the line a little.

Find Your Receipt

When you order online, a receipt is emailed to the address used at checkout.

  1. Search your email for Order Receipt. The subject reads “Order Receipt #” followed by the order number.
  2. The email comes from the school group’s name. A PDF copy of the receipt is attached.
  3. Match the date and amount to the charge on your statement.

The receipt shows what was bought, which school group it was for, and the total. You can open the receipt’s link without signing in.

Don’t forget to check your spam or junk folder, and any other email addresses you use.

Check Your Order History

If you have a FutureFund login with the school group, you can see your past orders there:

  1. Go to the school group’s FutureFund site and sign in.
  2. Click Member Home in the menu.
  3. Click Order History.

Order History shows orders placed with the same email address you sign in with. An order placed with a different email address, or as a guest with a different email, won’t appear there. Look for its receipt in that email’s inbox instead.

Common Reasons for a Charge You Don’t Remember

  • A donation to a student’s fundraiser. Many schools run events like a jog-a-thon or read-a-thon where families share a link to their child’s page. If you gave to a grandchild, niece, nephew or a friend’s child, the charge carries the school group’s name, not the child’s.
  • A payment plan or monthly gift. If you signed up to pay in installments or to give every month, your card is charged on each due date, not just the first time.
  • A purchase someone else made. Another family member may have used your card for a membership, event tickets or school spirit wear.
  • A purchase at a school event. If you tapped or inserted your card at a concession stand, bake sale or school event, that charge also comes through FutureFund. You only got a receipt if you gave your email or phone number at the time.
  • An auction item you won. If you bid in a school auction, your card is charged after the auction ends.

Still Don’t Recognize It?

Contact the school group first. They can look up the order and help you with it. Their name is in the charge on your statement.

If you can’t tell which school group it is, email support@futurefund.com. Include:

  • The date of the charge
  • The amount
  • The exact wording on your statement

Please don’t include your full card number. We’ll help you find out which group it came from.

School group volunteers: you can change the short name your families see on their statements. See [Statement Descriptor](/futurefund/account/index#statement_descriptor). A name families recognize means fewer questions about charges.
